Southwestern Church of Christ Welcomes You

GOLDEN AGERS

Meet every Tuesday at 10:30 AM. The meeting at the building includes fellowship, singing, prayer, bible study and eating together. It normally lasts 2 hours. Besides meeting at the building, the group goes to Monterey Nursing Home and Carriage Court Assisted Living Home to sing for the residence every 3rd Tuesday of the month. The group also goes into homes to fellowship/sing for those not able to get out and takes several tours during the year to sites of interest to the group. Anybody is welcome because we believe all ages are golden.

MENS GROUP

The men meet together once a month at 6:30 PM on the 1st Monday at the building in the fellowship hall. The meeting lasts 2 hours and includes fellowship, prayer, bible study and eating together. Sometimes the men will and do a service project.

LIFE GROUPS (SMALL GROUPS)

These groups meet together on the 4th Sunday of every month. There are currently four groups meeting together in host homes. The times very to from right after morning services to 5PM and usually lasts 2 to 3 hours. Time is spent in fellowship, a meal, bible study and prayer. All groups study the same topic that is prepared ahead of time.

MISSIONS

Currently this congregation supports two mission areas. One is Jim Waldren�s efforts in India where he has established schools to train preachers and provides a means to support themselves as they go out to evangelize and start up congregations. The second are in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where we support Dave grant�s effort to reach the area through a television program.

BENEVOLENCE

In addition to providing support to primarily those in the congregation in financial need and services for those outside the congregation if able to; we support on a monthly basis �Willowbrook Nursing Home, Midwestern Children�s Home, Potter�s Children�s Home and the Church of Christ Disaster Relief Fund in Nashville.

FOOD PANTRY

We provide food for those in need on a limited scale. This holiday season we teamed up with First Link to provide food baskets to several needy families in the community.

CHILDRENS WORSHIP

This is set up to allow children 3 years to 10 years old to do crafts that will teach them bible lessons and learn about worship in a fun atmosphere while allowing their parents to listen to the sermon without interruptions. Children leave the auditorium right before the sermon and are picked up by their parents afterwards. Another goal of the time is to provide mentorship to the under children by the older children.

LADIES GROUP

The ladies meet the 2nd Monday of each month at the building in the fellowship hall at 6:30 PM. Their meetings consist of fellowship, eating a meal and studying a chosen topic.

WILLOWBROOK

The congregation goes to Willowbrook Nursing Home and provides a worship service for the residence there every 13th Sunday. The service starts at 2 PM and lasts for about 30 minutes.

FAMILY NIGHT

The 2nd Sunday evening service of each month is dedicated to do a VBS type service for the children followed by a snack time in the fellowship hall.
